A trip to Xi'an
´ó¼ÒºÃ£¡
So much has happened this ʮԠin Öйú. Firstly, for our weeks holiday me and the other Scottish students decided to visit Î÷°², the home of the Terracotta Warriors! To get there we travelled by train which took Ê®¾Å hours but it was definitely worth the long journey for all the fun things we ended up doing. My favourite things were cycling around the city walls, seeing the Terracotta Warriors, taking a cable car up a ɽ with a beautiful view of the city at the top and the ºÜºÃ³Ô food at the markets. Even though we had not travelled to another country, the culture was so different in some ways it felt as though we had. The accent was nothing like in the North of Öйú that even Chinese people struggle to understand each other. The food was a lot spicier as well that is was almost impossible to eat some dishes because your mouth felt like it was on fire! Another thing that makes Î÷°² diverse is how rural it is, there are many more parks, trees and nature around in general which nice to see for a change.

Another exciting thing that has been happening is I started volunteering to teach Ó¢ÎÄ at a nursery close by to where I live. This is such a fun and rewarding thing to do in my free time. Most of the children are complete beginners and ages 3-6 years old so I am still needing to speak a lot of Chinese which is helping me improve too! Since it is ÍòÊ¥½Ú right now I took part in a ÍòÊ¥½ÚÅÉ¶Ô at the nursery dressed as Snow White! I have never done that before and I honestly felt like one of the people who work at Disney Land when all the kids came over for pictures. It was so much fun.

This weekend I am going to visit the longest glass bridge in the world and can¡¯t wait to show you all the pictures I get when I¡¯m there. There is a mountain to climb and a hot springs which I have never been to before so I am definitely excited for this new adventure. ÔÙ¼û and ÍòÊ¥½Ú¿ìÀÖ!
