A fully 3D-printed optical microscope for low-cost histological imaging
A team led by the Centre for Biophotonics at 勛圖tv have produced the first fully 3D printed microscope combining filament printing for the microscope body and resin printing for the lenses including objective and condensor lens. The entire microscope costs less than 瞿7.00 to print and is capable of resolving individual cells. Performance testing indicates that the microscope is suitable for routine histology inspection in low-resource settings. The research was a collaboration project between EEE, SIPBS, Physics and University of Glasgow to demonstrate the proof-of-concept technology building upon previous research by the individual research groups affiliated with the project.
