Projects

Henderson, Emma (Principal Investigator)
The professional video production will be executed by the ³Ô¹Ïtv Engineering Online Centre, a specialised production suite for online engineering resources. The centre is responsible for various ongoing projects, including Graduate and Degree Apprenticeship programmes, online undergraduate programmes, and online MSc programmes across the faculty.

This resource will be used to create 3 hours of professional video content. This content will be in the form of mini-lecture videos (15 minutes maximum) to introduce key concepts in a lectorial format. These lectures will be employed as the new supplementary material in compulsory modules in years 1 & 2, and in revised and improved forms of year 3 & 4 modules, where Ansys products exist in the curriculum already.

Two postgraduate research students will be selected to contribute to this Ansys curriculum project on a part-time basis throughout the development period (January 2024 to September 2024). Their time will be paid at the standard rate. The instructors’ buy-out time will cover teaching assistance throughout the academic year to enable their contribution in a supervisory and contributory level.

These improvements aim to enhance students' exposure and broaden their understanding of modelling, primarily within the FEA domain.

Henderson, Emma (Principal Investigator)
Neurodivergence diagnoses are increasing. These diagnoses include attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, dyslexia, and other neurological differences affecting learning and thinking. Diagnosed neurodiverse students can receive support from the University Disability and Wellbeing service, with recommendations for teaching and assessment adjustments. However, there are thought to be several small changes that can be made by teaching staff to improve cognitive accessibility for students with ADHD. Changes benefitting students with ADHD would benefit the entire learning community, including those with other hidden disabilities.
