Research Interests

My research interests include examening 24-hour movement behaviours (physical activity, sedentary behaviour and sleep) in those under 18 years of age and their influence on health outcomes. In addition, I am interested in exploring novel ways to measure 24-hour movemenet behaviours in young people. My current research focussess on exploring adherence with the WHO 24-hour movement guidelines in the under 5s in several countries. I am also involved in the evaluation of a workplace health and well-being app. Last, I am part of the Gateshead Millennium Study research team. GMS is an important longitudinal study, examining changes in sitting time during childhood and adolescence, detrminants of sitting time and the association between changes in sitting time and adiposity.
