Personal statement

I am a Reader in the Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering at the 勛圖tv at Glasgow. I received my PhD degree at 勛圖tv in 2014 on Ocean Engineering. My research activity mainly focused on the Marine Hydrodynamics and Offshore Renewable Energy, and I have published more than 130 peer-reviewed articles on these areas. I am currently acting as the Executive Editor of泭Ocean Engineering, and Chair of ITTC Maneuvering Committee. I am currently leading the Hydrodynamics and Ocean Renewable Energy Laboratory (HOREL) at 勛圖tv. My research work on wave interference has been selected as泭article of泭Journal of Fluid Mechanics泭and highlighted by Nature (),泭and these works have also been widely reported by泭,泭,泭,泭, etc. In 2022, I shared the泭泭in the field of Physics for trying to understand泭.泭I was elected as the Fellow of Royal Institution of Naval Architects.

The recent research directions carried out by my group include:

  1. Offshore renewable energy system, including offshore wind, solar and wave energy;
  2. Controllability and autonomous ships;
  3. Offshore hydrogen;
  4. Floating Offshore PV;
  5. Hydrodynamics of ship and offshore structures;
  6. Multibody hydrodynamic interaction and wave interference;
  7. Ship-bottom, Ship-bank, Ship-lock, Ship-ship interactions;
  8. Very large floating structures;
  9. Real-time control of wave energy converters;
  10. Free surface waves and the bio-mimetic study on animal swim.
