One of Scotlands judges has joined the 勛圖tvs Law School as a Professor of Practice.
The Hon Lady狸olffe(Sarah烈 L Wolffe烏C) has been a judge皋f眩he Court of Session疳n Scotland盎ince 2014 and, in 2016, became the first woman to be appointed to the Commercial Court.
She has had a legal career spanning nearly 30 years, with a particular focus on畚ommercial law.

Professor Wolffe, who intends to pursue research and writing on civil justice and commercial law as well as teaching, takes up her post at 勛圖tv on20 September.特he said:胼I am honoured疳ndeed眩o be joining 勛圖tv Law School. I am looking forward very much眩o the opportunity to get to know my new academic colleagues and students, to contribute to the education of a new generation of lawyers,眩o think and write about areas of the law which are of interest to me畝nd to participate症enerally疳n眩he life of the Law School.

Professor Wolffe studied at Dartmouth College, New Hampshire, the University of Edinburgh and Balliol College,烙xford. She qualified畝s a solicitor in Scotland in 1992, was called to the bar in1994畝nd took盎ilk as a QC in 2008.特he was appointed a Senator of the College of Justice in 2014 and served as a Commercial Judge 2016-17 and 2018-21.
She眨as盎tanding junior counsel to the Department of Trade and Industry and its successor departments (1996-2008), a member of the Faculty of Advocates Discipline Tribunal(2005-11),浚hancellor to the Bishop of Argyll & The Isles(2004-14)畝nd the Bishop of Edinburgh(2006-14),烈rocurator to the Scottish Episcopal Church(2006-14), and a member of the Scottish Civil Justice Council (2013-14). She is currently President of the Disciplinary Tribunal of the Scottish Episcopal Church and President of the Stair Society.
She was formerly Scottish editor of MacGillivray on Insurance Law and烘ithani皋n Directors Disqualification and contributed to the 11th疾dition of Gloag畝nd Henderson on the Law of Scotland.
Professor狸olffe疳s a trained mediator and畜efore serving as a judge眨as a member of the Faculty of Advocates Alternative Dispute Resolution panel of accredited Counsel.
