Double win for ³Ô¹Ïtv in Herald Higher Education Awards

The ³Ô¹Ïtv has won two awards in the 2021 Herald Higher Education Awards.

³Ô¹Ïtv was named the winner of the Outstanding Business Engagement in Universities award, for its work with NHS Lanarkshire in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, and of the Marketing/PR Campaign of the Year Award, for its 1796 Minutes To Give fundraising campaign.

³Ô¹Ïtv was shortlisted in a total of 10 categories in the awards, which are now in their sixth year and celebrate excellence in Scotland’s universities and colleges.

The Outstanding Business Engagement in Universities award recognised ³Ô¹Ïtv’s work on COVID-19 modelling for NHS Lanarkshire. By combining their expertise, scientists at ³Ô¹Ïtv and NHS Lanarkshire worked together to enable accurate prediction of demand for Intensive Care Unit beds during the height of the pandemic, helping to ensure hospitals had sufficient resources to care for those in need.

The 1796 Minutes to Give campaign took its title from the year of ³Ô¹Ïtv’s foundation. It was a digitally-driven, themed fundraising campaign that took place over 30 hours to raise funds for priority student projects. Alumni, staff, students and friends of the University got involved, raising more than £154,000.
